
To start off I am a Business student and as my elective class I am taking a Nutrition class. So this "Cleanse" thing started two days ago now, my nutrition instructor was saying if you eat psyllium fibre it works like doing a colon cleanse. She specifically mentioned "All Bran Buds with the psyllium fibre" was a good thing to eat for that. She also said to make sure you drink lots of fluids when you eat it. So when I got home that day I knew that we had all bran buds in the cupboard, I looked at the box and it was the one with the psyllium fibre. I figured that I would try and eat some so I measured a serving (1/3 cup) and ate some plain I didn't mind the taste for a few small hand fulls but because it's so bland I couldn't eat it all like that. So I mixed the rest in with some yogurt and at it like that.
The next day for breakfast I ate 1/3 cup of the all bran buds with a 1/2 cup of milk and a banana that I cut up. By that night I had gone to the washroom about 5 times. (I've tried other actual cleanses and I didn't go to the washroom half as much) So obviously it must be cleaning me out and working better than some cleanses; and if I'm going to the washroom that much I'm assuming that I may lose some weight. I should also mention I am still eating normally, I do generally eat pretty healthy , but I am not changing my regular diet other than adding in eating the cereal daily. So I am going to try to continue with this "cleanse" and see where it gets me. I figured that I'd write a blog for anyone who may be interested in knowing if this actually works as a cleanse and if it helps to lose weight. I know everyone is different and even if it works for me it may not work for other people but either way eating the fibre is good for you.
